Capcom once brought Street Fighter IV to mobile platform in March 2010, improving the mobile game experience as well as retaining part of the visuals of the console and PC fighter Street Fighter IV, and that turned out to be a huge success. Lately Capcom announced that they will release a new enhanced Street Fighter IV mobile game, called Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition, in summer 2017.

Compared with the Street Fighter IV mobile game, the new game will add three new fighters, Poison, Dudley and Ibuki, and there will be up to 25 characters in the game for players to choose. Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition will be an action-packed fighter but not a card battle game like Street Fighter: Battle Combination.

In fact, Capcom had rolled out one new Street Fighter IV enhanced mobile game each and every year before, including Street Fighter IV Arena and Street Fighter IV Volt, only with updates of new fighters and stability improvements. Comparatively speaking, the new Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition will be optimized for new smartphone features, and improve the screen resolution.
