Google Play Store Offering Limited Time Free Apps Too! Like Apple App Store

Friday, March 31, 2017

Recently Google updated its Play Store and added a new section to offer Android users a free app every week. The new section is called Free App of the Week and includes only one paid app which will be offered for free for around a week.

This new limited time offer is only available in the US for now, but it can be expected that Google will offer the new feature globally soon. The first paid app offered free for limited time is Card Wars - Adventure Time, a game based on Cartoon Network's Adventure Time show, usually costing $2.99.

The way how Google Play Store's new feature works makes it sound like App Store's similar promotion, which provides iOS users with limited time "Free iOS app of the week".

The current free app of the week is Chameleon Run, a unique, fast and challenging autorunner with a colorful twist. Your goal is to switch your color to match the ground as you run and jump from platform to platform. Let's check out the official trailer below.
